Mount Abu is more than just a summer retreat set amidst the lush forested hills. It is a verdant oasis in the barren desert scape of Rajasthan at an altitude of 1219 mts. The place owes its cool climate to its rich flora covering the entire hill side. Abu is also a popular pilgrimage centre as the Jain Dilwara Temples of India dating back from 11th to 13th century AD are located about 2.5 km from Abu and are world famous for their stunning use of marble.
One can enjoy the magnificient panoramic view of the Mount Abu town and green aravali range at Gurushikhar which holds the honor of being not only the highest peak of Abu but the whole of Aravali Mountain Range. Nakki Lake posses the crown of being the Heart of Mount Abu, it is the perfect place to spend your evenings with your family enjoying boating and the natural surroundings.

Mount Abu Brahma Kumaris Spiritual University and Museum teaches the equality amongst all religions. These teachings strengthen the fact that whatever be your form of respect, each path would lead you to the supreme power and not elsewhere. The University preaches peace using spiritual knowledge, yoga and meditation as its tool. Having more than 4500 branches, this University has its headquarters at Mount Abu. You would find the Brahma Kumaris, clad in white, at this place.
History:
In the month of April, 1950, the Brahma Kumaris shifted base and moved to Mount Abu. It was from here that the vigorous internationalization program began that involved several types of proselyting activity, popularizing the teachings and establishing centers across India that would have female teachers at the helm.
Description:
The university’s stated objective is the establishment of universal peace. The methods adopted for this purpose are sessions imparting spiritual knowledge as well as training of raja yoga meditation. There are many branches of the Brahma Kumaris in and around the world. If you wish to do a residential course at this university, you should contact this university’s local branch that’s closest to you. You can, however, even attend an introductory course (that comprise of seven lessons) during your Mount Abu Tour. You would need to spend just three days at the minimum. There’s no charge for this course as the organization is totally supported by donations. There is a museum too in Mount Abu that offers meditation session, thereby outlining the university’ teachings. The entry to this museum is free for all.
