Located 1220 meters above sea level, Mount Abu is considered to be one of the most auspicious pilgrimage centers for the Jains. The temperature is considerably low here than in the desert topography. It is like a table top built around a lake and surrounded by verdant forests. Mount Abu earns much of its claim to fame due to the Dilwara temples located right at the top of the hills. The tranquil surrounding, with interesting trek points and picnic spots are visited by tourists all through out the year. Located on the north east of Nakki Lake in a serene spot, Honeymoon Point is also referred to as the Anadara Point named after Anadara village lying in close proximity to the points. Located at a height of 4000 feet above sea level, it provides an excellent view of the setting sun and the desert topography below. A rock in the shape of a man and woman located nearby is responsible for this romantic namesake (honey moon point).
Honeymoon Point is a good place to pick up trinkets and knick knacks. Carved marble statues, sandalwood idols, wooden toys and the likes can be seen all over the spot. Food stalls are a regular here. It is an ideal place for newly wed couples searching for peace and romance.
The best season to visit Mount Abu is during the spring season. Book the hotels beforehand to avoid last minute rush.
